SoftLINK Installation Problem

In certain circumstances, the SoftLINK installation program may incorrectly produce a message stating that you need to have have Admin rights even though the logged on use does have Admin rights

The SoftLINK installation routine uses the temp folder on the workstation during the installation process. If the folder pointed to by the temp environment variable is invalid then the setup program will not function.

To check the temp Environment variable

  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Open the System Applet.
  3. Select the Environment tab.
  4. Find the TEMP variable in the User Variable list.
  5. Check that the folder listed exists, if this does not exist create the folder and run the SoftLINK Installation again.
